Nesta segunda-feira (14/02), os idosos do “Lar Nossa Senhora de Fátima” localizado no município de Barroso retornaram para o asilo. O local pegou fogo na madrugada da última sexta-feira (11/02).
O incêndio atingiu um quarto de isolamento para pessoas que testaram positivo para a Covid-19 e ainda não há informações sobre as causas das chamas. Alguns idosos haviam sido encaminhados para o hospital devido a inalação de fumaça.
De acordo com o Corpo de Bombeiros de Barbacena que atendeu a ocorrência, nenhuma vítima sofreu queimaduras ou ferimentos. O fogo foi contido por policiais militares antes mesmo da chegada dos bombeiros e o trabalho de rescaldo foi realizado.
A instituição tem 26 cômodos, 17 quartos, dois refeitórios e sete salas administrativas/consultórios, sendo um deles atingido pelo fogo. Foram danificadas: uma cama de madeira, uma mesa de madeira, uma televisão, um equipamento de oxigênio, as paredes, um colchão, fiação elétrica, um chuveiro elétrico, vidros das janelas e telhas do corredor de acesso ao quarto.
A instituição possui 64 internos entre 60 e 85 anos e recebe R$15 mil da Prefeitura por mês, além do pagamento dos salários dos funcionários.
