O Ministério de Saúde incluiu contraceptivos injetáveis de aplicação mensal na lista de medicamentos oferecidos pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). A portaria foi publicada no Diário Oficial da União desta quinta-feira (28/04).
O documento prevê a disponibilidade de contraceptivos de acetato de medroxiprogesterona e cipionato de estradiol, o algestona acetofenida e o enantato de estradiol.
A incorporação dos contraceptivos foi uma recomendação da Comissão Nacional de Incorporação de Tecnologias no Sistema Único de Saúde (Conitec).
Segundo o documento, as áreas técnicas terão um prazo máximo de 180 dias para efetivar a oferta dos contraceptivos às mulheres que procurarem o SUS.
Contraceptivos
O SUS disponibiliza diversos métodos contraceptivos. Entre eles, o diafragma e os preservativos, feminino e masculino.
Além das opções hormonais, há também o chamado DIU de cobre, dispositivo intrauterino em forma de T, colocado dentro do útero, que libera uma pequena quantidade de cobre para impedir que os espermatozoides fertilizem os óvulos.
O DIU é considerado um contraceptivo de longa duração, podendo permanecer por até 10 anos no útero.
